Away from the city, Melaka's recreational spots beckon visitors with a host of attractions.

Air Kerch
About 15km east of Melaka and within minutes of the Ayer Keroh toll plaza, lies the sprawling Air Keroh tourist belt. Situated amidst a vast forest reserve, it is a popular destination for family vacations offering hotels, tourist facilities and a variety of attractions.

This recreational forest provides an ideal setting for recreational activities such as jungle trekking, hiking, jogging, camping and boating. A novelty for tourists is the bullock cart and trishaw rides.

The A'Famosa Water World is fully equipped with a captivating array of facilities built to international standards. Set in a 20-acre landscaped area, the water park features a wave pool, tube and raft rides, high speed slides and children's play area.

The westernmost tip of Peninsular Malaysia, Tanjung Tuan was formerly known as Cape Rachado.The 18th century lighthouse there was built at its promontory to guide sailing ships safely to Melaka. The cape consists of a 65-hectare coastal forest cum recreational forest which serves as a sanctuary for migratory raptors from colder climes. The coastline is punctuated by a beautiful lagoon and a sandy beachfront.
