Getting to Kedah

Kedah is easily accessible by road, rail and sea. The state can be reached via a five-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur along the North-South Expressway. Malayan Railway or KTM operates regular train services to the state. There are also frequent air-conditioned bus services from most parts of the country to major towns in Kedah.

Malaysia Airlines, the national carrier, flies several times a day from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Alor Star and Langkawi. Direct flights are available from Singapore to Langkawi.

High-speed ferries operate from Kuala Kedah and Kuala Perlis to Langkawi throughout the day. There are also regular ferry services from Penang as well as Satun in Southern Thailand to Langkawi. Getting around the state is convenient as taxis and car rentals are easily available
